After scrolling through all of these comments by my namesakes I am convinced that my name is no longer a word and I will not be available for a statement. Also someone commented their nickname is eddy and I love that wow might have to go by that but I’ve started introducing myself as Minnie it’s much simpler than Meredith hahaha curse you mum and dad *in dr. doofinshmertz voice*

I personally absolutely love my name, no one in my life that I’ve met even knows a Meredith. I have a lot of nicknames that I used to hate when I was younger but now I like all the nicknames that special people in my life have for me. Most people call me mere or mere mere, my great grandparents call me Mary, my grandparents call me Meredith-May or Meredi , and my little cousins call me Murph or Murph Dawg because they can’t pronounce Meredith correctly. My best friend calls me Edith because we both think it’s funny and we love Marvel movies. There are a bunch more but those are my favorite nicknames.

My name is Meredith. I’m an adult now, and I’ve only just recently begun liking my name. Pretty much my whole life nobody could pronounce it or thought that my name was Mary Beth. When Gray’s Anatomy came about, people have at least heard of it now. People also always ask me if I go by Meredith. Then I feel awkward (though this is their issue, not mine) since I don’t really have a nickname that I go by. I don’t feel like a Mary (no matter how you spell it) and I don’t feel like an Edith either. I always wished that Meredith had nickname options!

My name is Meredith, and I honestly really dislike it when people call me Mer, Mer Mer, Merry, Meri, Mary, and other similar names. My middle name is Marie, which i think flows beautifully together, but i dont like being called Marie either, which my mother’s family does. I have never been called any form of Edie or Edith. I think I might not mind Dee Dee, but ive only seen it mentioned once. My nickname in HS was red, because I always had some shade of red going on with my hair, then later in life a younger girl called me mermare, like mermaid, both of which i didnt mind. Those shortened versions, aka Mer, mere, mermer, merry etc all actually really grate my nerves when people use them to speak to me. Often I have wished for a variation i don’t hate, but nothing ever stuck but red (for a few years). I love my name, it was my father and grandfather’s middle name, but I generally prefer the full version unless I am at work and have to bite my tongue. Please consider this if you are thinking about naming your child Meredith… People consistently misspell it and use shortened versions I really dislike. I guess it can be difficult to imagine if your unborn child will like the same nicknames you like, though.

My name personally is Meredith. I like the nickname Eddy (not Eedie). My middle name is Eleanore and I think it fits with Meredith really nicely
