Long live the Isabelles!
As an Isabel; it’s rare that I am called by my full name. Everyone loves giving us nicknames because; Hey! We’re fun to mess with! We don’t take ourselves too seriously.
But we also mean business ;).
I’m an Izzy. It’s more Americanized.
However, I inherited this name from my Grandma ( who I never had the honor to meet). She died from stage 4 Cancer.
Can you imagine how long she was sick for and never said a word?
She literally died 2 months after being diagnosed and 1month before my Mom graduated Highschool (with honors).
My Mother was so traumatized… All she wanted was my Granda “Mama Chave´” to watch her walk that stage proudly.
Anyway, she wanted my Grandma to live vicariously through me. So I was named after Mama Chave (Salvadoran nickname for Isabel) and I am Chavelita (Baby Isabel/ Little Isabel). Indigenous. Central American yet French all at the same time.
But…you can call me Izzy. That’s my ” Public name”. We ISABEL’s can’t be giving away ALLL our secrets.
Stay beautiful. Stay real. Love yourself above anyone. Peace and L❤VE 💋✊💯🍓
Ps: no extra L’s or E’s . Kiss= Keep it Simple Seductress ;)
