When you think of Switzerland, what comes to mind? The Alps, Heidi, chocolate, banks…? When it comes to the topic of names, The Swiss Confederation is a very interesting mix. They have four official languages: German, French, Italian and Romansch. As a result, they have more than one Top 10 list for names.

In 2015, in the French region of Switzerland, the most popular name for girls was Emma and for boys it was Gabriel.

In the German region, Mia was the top girl’s name and it was Leon for the boys.

In the Italian region, Sofia ranked No. 1 for girls and Leonardo was the top choice for boys.
