Best Nicknames

In this post, we’re going to tell you all the Season 6 Shopkin Chef nicknames that we have played with and tell you what their helper abilities are.

My 4-year old granddaughter taught me to play Season 6 Shopkins Chef on Kids Kindle. When I got the hang of it, I decided to help her complete the collection to teach her to set goals and to have patience to not spend all her gems on a Special Jar every time we got to 30. We had over 3 million points and 72 gems and bought a Limited Edition Jar.

Then we ran into the challenge “watch a video in a game.” Well, you can’t “watch a video in a game” on Kids Kindle with no in-app purchases so our game was stuck! I kept playing the game in hopes that one more gem would show up on the Daily Challenge. That game is over 6 million points now and it never happened, but the good news is, I played every Shopkin I had on there to see what it does and here are the results.

Our focus is simply to move through the challenges rapidly to build up gems. You will see which Shopkins can help you do that. When you get a set of good helpers, concentrate on building up their levels. Leave the others alone. Obviously, it’s best to save up for 100 GEMS as soon as possible to open the third helper spot. You will zip through the challenges with 3 helpers.

HELPFUL SHOPKIN TIPS:

When you are done playing a set of games, ALWAYS put the screen on My Shopkins. That way, you won’t accidentally hit the skip challenge gem (and lose 3 gems) when you pick it up to play again.

Unlocking Shopkins Tip: You still get credit on your challenge when you run into a duplicate

Popping Chef Hats – We like CUPCAKE PRINCESS and SWEETS HONEY for these challenges. When you use one Shopkin, a little timer goes around before you can use it again. When Sweets Honey puts you over the mark for another helper, don’t wait: use Cupcake Princess and get another 4 Chef Hats right away.

Making Chains: Our go-to Shopkin for chain challenges is ultra-rare CHEESEY MAC. The contrast with SWEETS HONEY and CUPCAKE PRINCESS is good. Just remember to turn on 4 in a bowl and you’re in business. You can count on Shoppie Exclusive BOBBY BUBBLEGUM for the 15-chain challenge for sure, but we’ve gotten chains longer than 25 with CHEESEY MAC.

Extra 15 seconds and Stirring the Bowl: Never waste GEMS on extra time. Don’t hunt for chains. If we can’t spot a chain of 4 or more in a second, we STIR.

SHOPKINS CHEF CHALLENGE LIST (Kids Kindle, S6)

Below is the list of Shopkin Chef challenges that you will run into once you have all the Shopkins that can be bought with coins, so you will know when you are about to come up against the “watch a video in a game” challenge. With no in-app purchases on Kids Kindle, you will have to spend 3 gems to get past that. Never buy a 30-gem or 70-gem jar unless you have 3 extra gems to get you past the video challenge. Even better: keep a 6 gem cushion in case of a mishap.

You will get NO GEMS from the Daily Challenge from this point forward. All you get from that is 850 points a day.

• use 15 different helpers (5 games/3 helpers)

PLUS 4 GEMS – use Shopkin helper 100 times This is the worst! You just had to play 5 games to get through the last challenge and now this??!! And you only get 4 gems. So frustrating! However, we can’t skip it because the cost is 7 GEMS: 3 to skip plus the 4 we don’t earn. We can only make the cycle shorter sometimes by skipping another challenge, like Pop 200 Chef Hats. That only costs 3 GEMS.

• use Ultra Rare Shopkin in 8 games (3 games with 3 helpers; 4 with 2)

PLUS 5 GEMS – collect 20,000 coins

• level up 10 Shopkins: Use those Level 1 Shopkins now with good ones to beat this fast, but when you have 3 helpers and are making 2 million a game, you can easily beat it in one game.

PLUS 5 GEMS – collect 1,000,000 coins

• collect 4,000 coins
• pop 200 Chef Hats
• pop 12 Chef Hats in a game

PLUS 3 GEMS – score 5,000 points in a game

• score 10,000 points in a game

About the 6 increases you can pay for:
• end of round score increased by 10% – earn 10% more coins – earn 10% more experience (500 coins each)
• increase game timer 5 seconds – less Shopkins for a bubble (6) – 4 types of Shopkins in bowl (1000, 1500, 1800)

We never use the top row. We don’t see what good they do. The 10% increase doesn’t count toward your challenge. Who needs 10% more coins they can’t spend? We have enough experience. So we feel that 1500 is a waste. Also, when you are making 2 million points a game, they want you to buy 5 new levels at the end of every game. That’s another 3,600 coins if you are using all Ultra-Rares. You don’t have to do it. The only thing it will do is increase your cumulative score and get you more coins. The more coins you get, the longer it takes to play the next game! So unless you want to see how high you can make your score go, only level up when the challenge calls for it.

We use 4 Shopkins in a bowl to get through some challenges even when it costs more than we’ll make. When we’re making well over 4300 coins per game, we use all 3 on the bottom row all the time on games where scores count. At some point, you’ll like playing 4 in a bowl and pop 6 bubbles for a Chef Hat all the time anyway.

To scan or not to scan: It’s up to you. We scanned all the Shopkins we could get our hands on. We can’t swear to it, but it did seem like we got less duplicates.

When to buy gems or coins: NEVER!

Using all these tactics, here are our best stats as of 3/24/2020:
High Score in one game: 38,064,978
Coins collected on that score: 333,069
Most Chef Hats popped in one game: 49
Highest number of Helpers used in one game: 8

As it turned out, I didn’t mind not being able to buy gems. I spent the money on the little Shopkin figures. My granddaughter loves them!
