Also there’s a boat dock in London named Chelsea & the meaning (in different cultures if I’m not mistaken) has to do with boats in general…. (:

  2. BARBARA says:

My granddaughter’s name was supposed to be: ASHTON NICOLE, & I see you have NICOLE paired with the 1st name CHELSEA & CHELSEA NICOLE sounds OK. But my so-called daughter-in-law (at the time) changed her name w/o even a word of discussion with me !!!

I soooooooooo wanted her to be named “ASHTON” after our Ancestral Castle in England called: ASHTON HALL, the castle was given to our ancestor: Sir Robert Lawrence by KING RICHARD the LION-HEARTED for his bravery at the Siege of Acre in about 1187A.D. The king Knighted Robert, which gave him the titles of:SIR &/or BARON & he also gave him the castle, the vast surrounding lands, & serfs to work the land. I had hoped against hope that my D-I-L would keep her word, but…. My son gave her the name Chelsea because the name had the word “SEA” in it, but he failed to notice the name has NOTHING to do with the SEA — They could have at least named her: CHELSEA ASHTON (if they HAD to name her ‘CHELSEA’ !!!

First off, I don’t see why she has to get your permission to name HER child??? It doesn’t matter what you want, its her child!!

    • Chelsea says:

It’s her child though. She doesn’t need your say so to name her child.
